Griffith Observatory Hike {Los Feliz/Griffith Park}

So after gorging myself at Alcove Cafe (see my post here), my friends and I decided to do an easy hike to Griffith Observatory. Easy feels harder when the air is humid and your belly is stretched, but regardless, you can do this.  It’s  not bad going up.  You should be cautious on the trip back down though–the dirt is sort of loose and on the steeper parts, you can slip if you’re not careful.

Anyhow, your rewards are health and nice views along the way.  Maybe a rainbow if you’re lucky.

Here’s a quick map to show you where to enter the trail and park your car–Fern Dell and Los Feliz Blvd are the approximate cross streets.  We didn’t have much trouble finding parking.

Once you make it to the Observatory, you can waltz it and check the place out for FREE (never an admission charge).  I personally find some of the exhibits to be a little field-trippy, but the joy is in the journey, or something.

Conclusion: My interest in the Observatory was initially slight, but the hike/views/and occasional exhibit made for an entertaining day.
