Hank’s Oyster Bar {Washington DC}

Recently spent the weekend in DC.  We ate at Hank’s Oyster Bar, which was pretty disappointing.

Prices.  Each entree was in the $20-30 range.

Cleanliness.  Kinky short black hair in my mom’s wineglass.  Grossed out, replaced with apologies.  Flat iron steak – took one bite, noticed a kinky short black hair in it.  Didn’t want it replaced (would take too long), and ordered lobster roll instead (faster to make).  Yes, they waiter apologized, but I’ve worked at a restaurant before, and that sort of thing should have been comp’d from our bill.   At the least, a manager should have come out to apologize.  Yuck, will not return.

Food.  My appetite was twice diminished, but taste was fine.  Lobster roll was really good.  Fish was super highly recommended by the waiter, but it was pretty ordinary.  The fries with the $23 lobster roll were ordinary.
